Campus Technology Committee Minutes
June 12, 2009
- Status of the final SIG report (Henry and Carrie)
Strata reviewed the draft report and highlighted specific aspects of the report.
The committee suggested clarifications and “matters of fact” to be revised. (inclusion of web and media services; change management issues) The revised report will be disseminated. Note: an integrated system was the top need identified by the focus groups.
- Recognition of CTC (Dr. Z)
Dr. Z placed this on the agenda for the Executive Committee although it has not been discussed.
Action item: Dr. Z will suggest moving this forward.
- CTO Position (M. Laun)
Mary Ann Laun and and Leslie Tirapelle took job descriptions from 7 colleges and wove them into a discussion document for the Campus Technology Committee.
Action item: Mary Ann will put it on a blog next week and members can comment on this first discussion. Lyle Engledinger will also be invited to comment.
- Technology surveys (M. Laun)
Action item: The Writing Group will reconvene to review the surveys for launch November 2, 2009. M. Laun will chair this group.
- Online form development (P. Rees)
Pat Rees summarized the administrative needs for online forms identified by the SOS secretaries group. Requirements were presented to an Adobe representative who provided an initial recommendation with five components.
Action item: Pat will follow-up with the Adobe rep for additional information and concrete pricing.
- Review PlanNet Survey Results (D. Pittman)
Dale distributed the PlanNet report on Business Impact Assessment, Risk Assessment, and Information Security Assessment. Discussion included information on disaster recovery planning. Among other things, the report recommends a Business Continuity task force to address these issues.
Action item: PlanNet report will be distributed to the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, and will be placed on the intranet.
- Schedule 25 (Dr. Z)
Action item: Funding for scheduling software approved by Dr. Z today. (A. Dooley)
